Why Play?

We were asked to create a hut using a range of materials. While we were making the hut we were asked to think about our thinking. We know that when we play we are using our imagination. We are able to visualise what we would like the outcome to be. Through play we develop skills and come up with lots of new ideas and we learn from our experiences. We also know that play helps us to build relationships. It teaches us to take turns, interact and get to know each other.

$100 Word Challenge by Asha and Nea

Linnea, Mania and Asha thought of a word that adds up to $100! The word was 'Sparkler'.

"Asha thought of the word sparkle and I thought of adding an S, than once we had found out that it was $1 more than I looked at the the word chart and saw that R was $1 less! That it all added up to $100! I was so excited! I was screaming SPARKLER, SPARKLER, SPARKLER!"

Here are the new student councillors and here are the new recycling boxes. The student council wanted to make our school a cleaner place so we will put these boxes in each room for you to recycle your school paper, cardboard, and plastic.
