As part of our Whakapapa Inquiry we found out about our own identity and culture. What a great way to demonstrate our Learner Attribute, "I am Connected."
We spent time at home making our own presentations about our own whakapapa. We shared and celebrated these during the last week of term 2. 
What is identity?
Identity is what makes you, you. It is about what you are in life. It is like how you look and it’s all about you. It is who you are. What makes you unique is that you're different from others and you are great. Imagine the world with everyone looking the same. We are all different in a special way. You might see things differently, like when you're in a lesson. There are a lot of things you can do. You are INCREDIBLE! You can be whoever you want. No one can change that. I think your life will be great.

Personality is also what you like to do, what you believe in like, what you dislike, who you like to play with. For example I like to play football. I like to play goalkeeper and strike my friends also like to play football a lot. I also like bunnies, rabbits and cute animals. I really like to run a lot too!

Boys and girls can like different things like a girl can like… trains, cars, lego, blocks, water guns and boys can like dolls, pink, tea sets, soft toys and rainbows. It is ok for boys and girls to like boy stuff or girl stuff and this is a part of our identity.
Personality

Ethnicity is part of your culture and your language. Ethnicity is a group of people who identify with each other. They can share common language, history and nationality. For example spanish people can have the same ethicity.

I like to sleep, drawing, drawing pusheen, rollerblading, making duck noises, fighting John! climbing trees, reading books, writing stuff, watching cartoons, watching movies, eating yummy stuff, drinking yummy stuff, playing with my friends, going on holiday and heaps more!!! Everybody has a hobby.
