Cupboard Spooks

During lockdown, We had a task of making a movie. We created one, by the name of Cupboard Spooks. It was, in a way, difficult to make, especially since visiting each other was banned. But what we did was that we cut the clips together to make it look like one house. We actually worked way over the deadline. We finished on about the week before the last week of school. We created the special effects. It was a really cool experience, and we want to make a sequel.

How to Garden

These guys followed the pattern of one of their favourite YouTubers who translates english text into about 10 other languages, then back to english. This was the result... it is not recommended you follow the google translate version if you want to succeed at your gardening!!!

 

'The Great Waka of Tama Rēreti' - Matariki Whānau Day

Our 2019 Matariki Whānau Day was a huge success, with each whānau group coming together to celebrate Te Ao Māori through the Arts.

Carl and Nik's whānau group (with fantastic support from Cloe!) watched and listened to some different versions of The Great Waka of Tama Rēreti.

We then got in to groups to create backgrounds and moving figures for a paper theatre.

With the help of Carl's height, we filmed our movie in just a few takes.

Later, we used GarageBand to record some background noises, such as the Taniwha, water and fire.

A special mention must go to Matilda, who did an exceptional job of narrating the story.

Once Upon a Crime: Capital E

This week, we went to Capital E to make a movie. We all took on different roles to make this happen.

Molly: 

My role for Capital E was the Assistant Weather Presenter. We got videoed and what we had to say would come up on camera one. This role was easier than others because we didn't have to remember anything. First we chose our costumes and then we would wait for our cue to go on. When Beauty and the Beast was just finishing, then the presenters will say their part. Next the camera will turn to us. Yasmin started reading and then she would hand it to me. I would read my part then I hand it to Yasmin again. At the end we said together "good day to you all and back to the studio with Nell and Orla."

Orla: 

This week, we went to Capital E. We had different roles that we got assigned. I was one of the presenters. We had so many lines but luckily there was a autocue machine so we didn’t have to memorise them. We did 2 run throughs. We made it like it was on live TV so if we messed up we couldn’t stop and re-make the part. We had lots of fun. The people who began the scenes did such a good job at keeping the people in the show on track. They had lots of controls, headsets and lots more because they needed to stay in contact. Otherwise things would happen at the wrong time and place. We had so much fun and made a really cool movie.

Windy Wellington Film

Zach, Thomas and Lucas were on the movie team for our Arts Celebration. They did a wonderful job putting this movie together. On the night they provided popcorn for the movie screenings.

International Friendship Day Movie Project

At Worser Bay School, we are excited to learn about different places and cultures. We have started a project that is linked to International Friendship Day (this is celebrated in Singapore to celebrate collaboration and connections with other cultures). Schools from across the world have signed up to share a short movie about their country.
