Loose Parts and Play

Please help us to collect loose parts for us to play with at break times. It will gives us a variety of things to do and play with. Please do not bring any sharp things and no nails pointing out of wood. Anyway, we will be sorting through the stuff. There are examples of things on our poster. See the video below to see what could happen!

PALS 2017

These are our new PALS (Playground Activity Leaders)- who are a team in our student council. These students are keen to work across the school to encourage all students to participate in activities. They have some great ideas that they will be leading and have started a roster.

The PALs (Playground Activity Leaders) have been doing a great job in Tautoru. Thank you for teaching new games to the younger students. 

Making a Contribution - Student Council

 This week we got into our new Student Council groups, with the new leaders. The leaders all did a quick presentation about what they thought was important about the role and what they thought they could bring to it. Then we got to work, sorting out priorities for the term and rosters as to who would do what jobs, or brainstorming what the priorities for the group should be.

The groups are:
 - Library
 - ICT
 - PALs
 - Gardens
 - Compost
 - Trapping
 - Outdoor classroom
 - Choir
 - Social

If you have any skills or tools that you would like to share with the students to help with any of these groups, please let John, Gabrielle or Hamish know.

The PALS

The PALs do an important job. They are our "Play Activity Leaders". All of the senior children are PALs.

P.A.L.S.

The P.A.L.S. are going to be giving out awards during assembly starting from next term. The awards will be linked into the weekly focus.

The P.E. box is working really well, although it’s important that all the equipment is returned.

The games are on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes. If you want to play you can! We will advertise the games and where to play them 10 minutes before lunch.
