ICT Afternoon Group

In the ICT afternoon group, we have been exploring different apps on the iPad. Today we used imovie, imovie trailer and pic collage to display our collaborative group work.

Our disaster posters: As a group, we had to think of a disaster and how we would escape from that place. We had to think about objects that we might need.

This is what we came up with...

Our Gardening Group

Thursday Gardening Club

Peas and potatoes in our garden down the bank.

For our Thursday Club we got the choice to do gardening.
Josie says:  Thursday gardening club is really fun! This week we walked around the school suggesting things we could plant and good places to plant.
Emma M says: I think it’s a good idea to make gardens in the school.
Meg says: We are planning to make some compost bins, so if anybody could bring in seaweed and organic food scraps (but not meat), that would be great.

We are looking at creative ways to plant, using pots and containers, gardens in different and surprising places including down the bank where we are growing peas and potatoes.  It is really awesome to see things growing!
What do we need?

  • Seaweed
  • Leaves
  • Straw
  • Grass clippings
  • Manure
  • Plant pots, terracotta pots
  • Hoses and irrigation equipment
  • Water tanks, drums
  • Bamboo stakes

Afternoon Clubs

Club day was fab! We mixed up everyone in the school. We swapped spaces and teachers.

These are photos and a trailer from the ICT club (trailer by Mya).

We worked together to cross the minefield and came up with plans to get off a deserted island. Next week we will make videos to explain our escape plans.
