Helping Circles for Writing

We have started having helping circles at the end of each literacy session for the children to share their writing with someone else. This gives everyone a chance to be an author and have their writing heard - it's amazing how reading your writing aloud helps you to see some things about it that you'd like to improve. It also gives everyone a chance to share what else they've done with their independent time during literacy and to reflect on the goals they set in literacy practice.

This was an idea suggested by Sally Muir in the professional development sessions the teaching staff had with her last term.
