Homework Expectations

Each week you can expect your child to have:

 Spelling Rockets- 2 X 10 minutes per week

 Basic Facts/ Mathletics 15- 20 minutes 2 X per week
 Silent Reading, read aloud or parent read for twenty minutes each night

(remember it is the talk about reading that is invaluable)

IMPORTANT: HOMEWORK SHOULD BE MANAGEABLE- WE DON'T WANT IT TO TAKE OVER YOUR LIFE!

We want to encourage discussion with people at home around the homework tasks so that learning continues at home and the connections are made even if you don't have the time to write anything down it is imperative that you do the talking. Our programme depends on this as many of the ideas discussed at home to provide a foundation on which we build.

Homework will be related to what we are doing in class and will often involve working in draft 

books to complete a piece of writing, brainstorm, etc. 

Please help to establish this routine.

Homework will be in the newsletter and on the blog every Friday and will be collected and discussed the following Friday morning.
